The funny HurricaneAubrey on Youtube started this little video, so I thought it would be fun to do one as well:
The song in the video is one that I wrote a few weeks ago, but hadn’t uploaded because I never found a good final version. However, I got it finished just in time for the video, and as part of that, you can download the song for free below (I moved it to a separate post, so click this link).

As usual, I severely underestimated Twilight fans.
On my Youtube channel, I started a contest to win some of the Twilight movie cast autographs I got at the premiere, and teamed up with Twicon‘s people to give away a signed book. I expected about… 150 entries?
At this moment, it’s the #3 most discussed video on Youtube, for the second day in a row, with 16 other honors. It’s been viewed 20,000 times and commented 3,800+ times in just 24 hours.
Lesson learned: never underestimate Twilighters.
Other lesson learned: get more sleep, in case 18,000 people randomly decide to watch you.
Third lesson learned: only Hank Green can talk as fast as Hank Green without becoming partially unintelligible.

I just put up a new Youtube video that basically says why I haven’t put up a new Youtube video in so long. In my last post I said my next video would be about writing. Wrong! That one is taking a little more work. Meanwhile:
ADDED: Forgot to mention: you can see my interviews on this page.

What a few of you may still not know is I lead a double life. Over here, I am Kaleb Nation. Somewhere else, I am The Twilight Guy.
Recently on my other blog I have been helping get a new Twilight-themed Youtube channel started and promoting their auditions for new members. Today, weeks later, they picked the members who made it, out of over 70 auditions. So, as a congratulations to the winners and all the wonderful talent who tried out, I made this video:
If you haven’t read any of Twilight or are in the dark about Stephenie Meyer’s books (and my journey reading them…as a guy), you probably won’t get all of it. Along those lines, I must state that if you haven’t heard of Stephenie Meyer, you must not check the bestseller lists, or walk into any bookstore, or in fact not talk to 90% of girls and moms these days.
However, you still get to see me with a pot on my head. And I play the harmonica. You might need earplugs for that part

As a writer, every time I leave my apartment I always bring along my trusty backpack. I have noticed that the bag carries more things attributed to writing than anything else: notebooks, paper, pencils, pens, etc. For some reason, I always have to carry both my newest writing notebook and the one immediately before it, in case I need to look something up. And on days where writing will need particularly deep fact-checking, I also have two gigantic, 11 x 14 inch plotting notebooks (those are some huge pages, people).
Thus, my backpack basically contains my mobile life. I will be meeting with my publishers sometime, and I realized with shock that I certainly could not walk into their office with my old backpack. This was a very meaningful realization, as it means the start of changes from me as a Writer into me as an Author. So I ordered a brand new laptop bag with room for files and papers, and it’s so snappy it nearly spells bestseller in black leather.
Still, when going to the cafe, I use my backpack. And this video is of a few of the curious things to be found in it.
