Taylor Swift – Teardrops On My Guitar

- January 18th, 2008 at 9:37 am by --KALEB NATION-- -

Taylor Swift - Teardrops On My Guitar-spacer- Taylor Swift certainly has what it takes to stay in the music spotlight. Just barely off of her success with her first song Tim Mcgraw, she put out Teardrops On My Guitar, and while still riding off that one on country radio she sent it to Top 40 with this new mix.

Change the drums, add some instruments and she has another hit. Turns out her management is smart as well, because just as she put out this track, she already has another song to country radio. They have found the key to radio success: keep the good tracks coming. Taylor’s people have resurrected my hope that some people in the music business still have brains when it comes to managing artists well.

For the comment box: Which mix do you like better- this new one or the album version?

Last Christmas: Taylor, Jimmy, Ashley or Cascada?

- November 19th, 2007 at 5:20 pm by --KALEB NATION-- -

So I just posted about this song a week ago, but already there’s another version out from Cascada, the electronic pop artist who was able to record one song and be the biggest pop artist of last year. Which version is best? The original, I have discovered, was done by Wham, though I don’t have that one because it’s so old. However, I have clips of the four latest versions below: and which one is the best?

Here’s Jimmy Eat World – Last Christmas (2005):

Here’s Ashley Tisdale – Last Christmas (2006):

Here’s Taylor Swift – Last Christmas (2007):

And Cascada – Last Christmas(2007)

- November 14th, 2007 at 6:13 am by --KALEB NATION-- -

The new Taylor Swift Christmas album is set to be one of the best in a long time. She’s already lined up two good tracks for it and this is the latest called Christmases When You Were Mine.

Her voice carries the song all the way to the end. The song is called Christmases When You Were Mine by Taylor Swift, from her Christmas CD.

Taylor, Jimmy or Ashley?

- November 7th, 2007 at 2:18 pm by --KALEB NATION-- -

The song Last Christmas has become an annual event. First it was Jimmy Eat World, who had their first (and only) big song with it. Next came Ashley Tisdale just in time to take advantage of her High School Musical success- a song that was not on her debut album. Finally, this year it’s Taylor Swift, taking on the song in her own style. But which one is the best?

So I’ve got the three of the lined up and you can see for yourself.

Here’s Jimmy Eat World – Last Christmas (2005):

Here’s Ashley Tisdale – Last Christmas (2006):

And here’s Taylor Swift – Last Christmas (2007):

Taylor Swift – Last Christmas

- November 6th, 2007 at 8:31 am by --KALEB NATION-- -

Taylor Swift strikes again with what will be this year’s Christmas hit: she’s taken the annual rendition of Last Christmas for 2007. I don’t think I’ve heard a song from her that I hate, despite the slightly juvenile market she’s aiming for and occasionally shallow lyrics. The vocals are sweet and sweet-if-ied by some special effects, I’m sure, but they’re smooth all the same. I haven’t heard her hit an off note yet and I’m quite pleased with this one.

Taylor Swift from her Christmas album, song is Last Christmas. Tell me what you think.
