Poser Kaleb Is A Poser KaIeb.

This YouTube account is a fake me, at Youtube.com/KaIebNation. Notice how that looks just like Youtube.com/KalebNation? It’s because this is a sans-serif font. The “l” in this fake “Kaleb” is actually an uppercase “i”. You can’t tell because the font makes it look like an “l” (which, when shown with serifs, is actually a lowercase letter l as in linoleum).

You can tell it’s not me, however, because he has zero subscribers, just registered last week, and says he’s from the UK. This happened with Twitter a while back, and I got it shut down — unfortunately, YouTube is abysmally slow with suspending poser accounts. Worse: he’s using my name to phish out passwords from my subscribers. Here’s a message he sent to a bunch of YouTubers last week:

Hey ***** =] Congrats on your video, it’s doing really well! & it’s great =]

I was thinking, would you like to be part of our twilight clan? ive made a special video that i plan to upload to 10 youtube users, and i would love it if u would accept it!

4 Others have accepted already & i have uploaded the video to there account, it’s private at the moment though. but will all be revealed next week!

So would it be ok if i upload this special video to your account? i’ll keep it private for now.

There are many obvious reasons this is not me. One is the extremely non-Kaleb overuse of the smiley =]  — one which I avoid like the plague because of my habitual use of the SHIFT key before typing emoticons, which causes that smiley to turn into +} . This looks more like the emoticon representative of a headstone:

That aside, I personally counted 14 grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. Atrocious.

So, if you are one of the many people who received this, do me a favor and report it to YouTube. Also, if you do reply to Mr. KaiebNation, I prefer it to be snarky and/or so disturbingly nonsensical that he gets a good idea of who he’s messing with. Here is an example reply from which you can derive your own:
