Most of you have probably heard of my project TwilightGuy.com, in which I wrote detailed reviews from a guy’s perspective of the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. As I said when I first started that website, two very long years ago: “I do not read vampire romances, nor werewolf romances, nor hobbit romances, nor any other romances“. However, I lived through reading the entire Twilight Saga. And as such things go, it only follows that I must now experiment on the second item on my list of things I do not read: werewolves. Heaven help us if someone digs up a hobbit romance for me
I discovered Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater when it was given to me at a convention, but never opened it. I was told by Lauren of TheCrookedShelf.com to read it, though I never did, until many months later when I finally opened the book to see what the beginning was like. I knew full well that I didn’t have time to read anything nor get involved in another fandom: and yet I was sucked in before the second chapter ended. Thus, I relented, and decided I would read the rest, and blog my experience at SHIVERGUY.COM.
Shiver has been called the Twilight for werewolf lovers, so if you were a fan of Twilight and TwilightGuy.com, you’ll almost certainly enjoy reading along with me. I haven’t read the book, so I can’t honestly say if I’m a fan or not. But the opening was good enough for me to set up a new website… and that takes a lot 😀
This website will be my video thoughts on reading the book, and possibly continuing on to the sequels. Unlike TwilightGuy.com, the reviews there will be done via videos posted once / twice a week with my thoughts on a few chapters at a time (as Maggie’s chapters run shorter and thus I can read a lot at one time).
I hope you enjoy following along with my journey through the world of werewolves!
