Scholastic Book Clubs just announced their upcoming, exclusive paperback edition of BRAN HAMBRIC: THE FARFIELD CURSE. I’m guessing that most of the things in the new edition of the book will be the same, besides the switch from hard to soft cover. I’m very excited that Scholastic will be releasing the book to schools this way, because from the very beginning, when I was 14, for some reason Scholastic was the publisher that my mind equated with ‘good childrens books’. In fact, I remember calling their editors on the phone directly when I was about 12, trying to pitch old fantasy stories (something that at the time, I did not know was vastly against normal publishing rules!). So I can’t wait to see what they do with the book after all these years!
January also falls around the same time that we’ll release the title of Bran Hambric 2! That’s a few good things happening right at the beginning of the new year
I think this is the movie I’m looking forward to the most in all of 2010. It’s interesting that Tim Burton doesn’t seem to be going with the original storyline that the classic Alice In Wonderland movie had — it almost looks like this will be some type of a sequel.

It has come to my attention that the title of the second Bran Hambric novel was somehow leaked, nary one evening after we launched the new website. I have no clue how this happened, but it’s rather confusing for many reasons, one being that only a very specific few even know the title, and we have all been exceedingly careful not to reveal it.
It’s dazzling somewhat when something you are a part of is deemed important enough by someone to leak it out, but at the same time it’s a bummer because it spoils the fun for the real fans who are waiting. So I do ask that if you come across the title online, or any of the plot details (or heavens forbid, chapters from this unedited thing, at which point I will become a hermit) that you please keep it to yourself, so as to not ruin things for the other fans.
Also keep in mind that for the next month there will probably be people claiming to have the correct title, but I guarantee you this one would be very hard to guess if you are not someone on the inside. If you do come across very direct information however (plot details, excerpts of the book, artwork, etc.) before January 10, please send an email to management@branhambric.com (please note: these messages will not reach me, so spoiler info only).
As stated on the Bran Hambric website, I will be revealing the title on January 10, 2010, along with the title treatment. Thanks to all of you who’ve been waiting patiently!
I’m so excited about the sequel to Bran Hambric: The Farfield Curse! My publishers have already started getting things set for it. This morning, they cleared the way for me to line things up to reveal the title! We’ll be announcing it on January 10, 2010 (1/10/10).
