New Mix Of “The Wall Of Drawings”

July 11th, 2009 at 2:48 pm by --KALEB NATION--

bhpianoHullo everybody, I’m getting things set for the release of the Bran Hambric Soundtrack, which will be out just before the book is! I’m lining up a post with all the info (including the AWESOME cover art!) but for now, I need your input in a NEW version of one of the songs!

I am setting up the final mix for the CD, which will have 9 songs in total (including one no one has heard yet). I thought that “The Wall Of Drawings” in its original version sounded a bit dry and dull, so I went back to the mix and made a new version. Tell me what you think:

To listen to the old version, go to BranHambricMusic.com. I think you’ll agree the new version is a lot better!

I like the old one much better. Something has been left out of the new one; it doesn't feel quite right.

I might be biased, though, because the old Wall of Drawings is one of my favorite tracks, second only to Bolton Road (Bolton Road is my favorite, in all of it's incarnations).

I absolutely love it! I've listened to it 2 times in a row and I'm going to start listening a third time as soon as I finish this comment.

Both versions are very beautiful, but maybe I like the first one a little more - it has this simple beauty to it. This new one is very exciting - so it all depends on what you think that fits the story the best. The first one is very thoughtful and second one more adventurous.

Hmm... I love both versions. This remix has some more sections that pop out at me but I love the other one because although it may seem dry and dull, it was soothing and relaxing. It may not have been the most exciting piece of music but it was beautiful because it was so simple. Anyways, I love both and I agree with Heather in that I think you should just put both songs on the soundtrack. :)

Well, looks like I'm going alone on this one.
Actually, I listened to them both (I was being serious--for once--about giving a truthful answer) and I have to admit that I like the older version more. I don't know exactly why. I just sounds prettier to me. I'm way into the wind-chime-sounding things and the piano. Hardcore. The violin tends to put me off a little. But, maybe, you could put them both on the soundtrack (even though it looks like I'm a minority when I say I'm in favor of the old version)? (By the way, is this coming out in stores, or just online?) It could be like "TWoD" and "TWoD Remix". I don't know. Just thinking out loud, here. Absolutely adore your music though! (I would say I love the book, too, but I haven't read those free chapters. I'm waiting for the entire story to come out.)
  • I like it, but I don't know if I'd say it's way better. A few of the piano notes kinda jumped at me and shocked me a litte.

I really like this. It sounds as if I am on a journey, whether it be observing something or traveling. I can picture several things, mostly a character going through somewhere. I can picture him thinking and taking it all in. Thank you for sharing your beautiful music with us.
  • Omg, Kaleb, that's really pretty!
