Well, to be a buzz kill, I'm not really understanding why he's combining Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass. He's combined the Red Queen from Through the Looking Glass with the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland, which really doesn't make any sense. But those are the only two characters from Looking Glass, so go figure, really not making sense to me. I'm not really a math person, but the novels are a series of logic statements, which I suspect he's not really going to put much of an emphasis on. I'm a little tired of people thinking Alice in Wonderland is some trippy, crazy adventure written by a druggy, it's math, it's reason, and it shows how reason taken to the extreme is absurd. What many adaptations do have in common is that they make themselves look absurd by using extremes.

Plus, the visual just looks gaudy. Sometimes a little bit of subtlety goes a long way.

Not to mention Johnny Depp is a great actor! And Anne Hathaway isn't too bad either. I just can always seem to be able to tell it's her. But Johnny Depp looks different in every movie he does. It's like he's a different person each time, which is amazing because that means he gets really into character.

Tim Burton always makes great movies! Honestly, has he ever actually made a bad movie? The only three I can think of right now are Nightmare Before Christmas (DUH), Sweeney Todd, and Edward Scissorhands. And also that movie 9 that is coming out (same day as Bran Hambric). Did he have anything to do with Coraline? I don't remember but it looks a bit like his style.
