The idea for this song came to me suddenly while I was writing, and I had the entire thing arranged and recorded in about an hour. I left it on my computer for a month, then came back to it today, and didn’t change a single thing.

However, despite spending so little time on the song, the video took me nearly half a day to complete: mostly because I started out with a lame idea of showing my hands at the keyboard, doing each note and fading each one apart (this turned out horrible, after about 4 hours of filming, because basically all you’d see were these misty hands pressing the same keys over and over — LAME). With each beat in the song, there is a beat on the video, and I think it finally turned out right for this song.

Awesome song! I just recently found out about you and can't wait to read your books. Me and two of my friends love writing as well and I'm inspired by you, because we are also younger teens and want to write. You rock!

Kaleb, can you upload a few more of your songs with an alternate .ZIP download?
I'm on a Mac, and still haven't mastered the art of, well, using it. It won't let me "Save As" for some reason.

    Dear Kaleb
I can really hear how awesome live strings would be, with maybe actual bells you know the orchestral ones, and occasional melismas with an accordion, and...it sounds mad when you wait a beat and double it up with itself by playing it in a second window at the same time... beautiful xx

all of your songs simply make me want to meet you, Kaleb. I've meditated to these songs! This one personally is my favorite after A Boy Named Bran. And when it hit 1:03 I stopped breathing. You're just a genius. Some of your songs have inspired me to write :)

    respect&love, Carly

Like it, yay, and it's really hard to make out what the shapes are in the video, but some things I could see, and the vagueness made me pay attention to the music more.
Congrats getting your bound "Farfield Curse"s!
  • I also commented on YouTube first.

Like I said there, I love it. I think it's my favorite so far.

You're amazing! I really do think the video is beautiful. It was certainly worth the time you put in. :)
  • Wow, Kaleb, you're really talented. I love it! I'm probably going to download it, too.

I commented on YouTube (where I saw it first) and really like it. It's moving up in my list of favorite Kaleb songs. The best part for me is when the orchestra sound comes in.
