The Box In The Bookstore [Music]

NOTE: For two weeks, you can download this song for free. Click the link below the preview!
I always liked making songs that sounded somewhat mysterious, but as it happened most of music I’ve made so far has been slow and happy (besides the Prologue song on all the websites). On Saturday I had some free time, so I sat down with a specific part of The Farfield Curse in mind, and tried to set that part of the book to music — and surprisingly enough, the song came out all in a few hours.
In the beginning of The Farfield Curse, Bran is found locked in a vault with no memory of who he is. Years later, when he is 14, he is nearly kidnapped by someone who knows far too much about him, and he realizes there is something dark in his past he hasn’t yet discovered. Searching for the truth leads him to a bookstore, where he discovers something hidden amongst the very townspeople who try so hard to outlaw magic. This song represents the part in the book where Bran first begins to realize how big of a thing he is getting himself into: and how dark and sinister his past could be.

Very mysterious and creepy. And I love that kind of music, so it’s awesome!
I have yet to read a draft of your story, I’m afraid if you give it to me and I read it I’ll want more and have to wait (such as the case with Midnight Sun…or the codeword Dark High Noon). So I’d rather just wait until the book comes out that way it will be a whole experience =)

I listened to the song before I read the background and I thought it sounded really mysterious and haunting. (Evidence you conveyed it wonderfully.) Then I read your explanation and it all made sense.
Since this is about music, I guess my question isn’t so random: I know the Top5 isn’t airing anymore, but can I still listen to old episodes somewhere?
Thanks! and keep composing; your songs just get better and better! (Theme to Bran and Rosie/Bolton Road is my fav.)

I love this. Very mysterious and even slightly mischievous (to portray the townspeople I assume). The melody is playfully haunting and the song overall is so alluring. Wonderful job!

Hey! Kaleb I love the way you made the most recent song of Bran’s like a music box. It really makes me imagine things! Thank you for letting us download it! Please give us more!

This track really rocks.
However, I must say that it would sound awesome with real instruments. Especially on the solo around 1:30 in the song. When you have a real violin or any stringed instrument, you can attain that beautiful vibrato that makes the song powerful in my opinion.
Good job with composing Kaleb!

Awsome! This song rocks, best of them yet. It actually inspired me for a story too, but I won’t tell what it’s about…
Keep writing!
