Emmy Rossum – Slow Me Down

November 20th, 2007 at 6:41 am by --KALEB NATION--

If you don’t recognize the name, I’ll give you some clues. Christine. Think Of Me. Phantom. Opera.

Phantom Of The Opera

That’s Emmy Rossum, and now she’s released her own album (we all knew she would eventually). After turning down multiple deals for a classical album, following with her most famous role in the Phantom of the Opera movie as Christine Daae, Emmy signed with Geffen Records to do a pop album; though she is quick to note it’s not a ‘Britney pop…more like Madonna’. Sounds a lot like Enya meets Kelly Sweet to me. I could say she sounds exactly like Michelle Tumes though I doubt anyone knows who she is anymore. Click the button to hear the beginning:

What you get from mixing Emmy Rossum and a pop producer is an ethereal pop that is quite rare and an interesting sound that I can easily listen to while writing or relaxing in the evening. This song doesn’t have any drums which is bit of a bummer- even those very light, fake pop loops would do good for this. I miss the light beat so much I’m considering doing my own remix of this song. But it’s a good listen.

She gets her rating because it’s different in a world of radio where everything’s always the same, and I’ve been looking for something like this for a while. The song is by Emmy Rossum and it’s called Slow Me Down.

  • O brother,

WhyIHateMyMother gave me this... Don't kill me for passing on a meme!

You've been tagged, now waste your time with:

    1. writing seven random facts about yourself,
    2. tagging seven hapless mortals,
    3. hitting shift a zillion times, or until your fingers fall off, and you will see the name of your mother.
