Christopher Paolini: Will Be 4 Books instead of 3
October 30th, 2007 at 6:21 pm by --KALEB NATION--
Christopher Paolini, author of the Inheritance series commonly known for Eragon and Eldest, has just announced that his former trilogy of books will now have 4 novels. He is famous for being 15 when he started on his books and 19 when he was a New York Times Bestselling author, and was quite an inspiration to me for the longest time, even before I read his first book. He’s sold 16 million copies of his first two novels alone. The titles of Eragon Book 3 and Eragon Book 4 (what people are calling them for now) haven’t been put out yet, though the next book has been set for release in September of 2008, and some speculate the third book in the Inheritance series will be titled Empire. Go here for the news…
Anyone out there a fan of Eragon and Christopher Paolini? And more so, has anyone seen Christopher at a book signing before, and how big was the crowd? I looked for videos on YouTube but there aren’t many of his appearances.
Added 1/17/2008: Christopher Paolini just announced the title of book 3 will be Brisingr.

FOUR books? You mean we have to wait, not only for a third book, but also a FOURTH book, too? NO!
Those books are “okay” when you read them the first time, but I tried to read them over again, and couldn’t get past the first two pages… Some books, you can read them over and over again and not get bored, but these books aren’t like that, IMHO.

16 million….those words repeat themselves in my brain. What’s a guy his age do with all that?
November 1st, 2007 at 12:59 am
Ok, what the heck? What happened to /trilogy/? I’m not complaining, I LOVE the books, I’m excited we’re getting more, but I was really anticipating the end and knowing what would happen. We’ve been waiting for the TITLE for what now, a year and a half, two years? Maybe longer. And now, we’re going to have to wait even longer. I know Paolini is a kid in school and stuff…. but how much more can he write, and how much more time can he consume?
November 9th, 2007 at 12:35 pm
O….K….A…..Y!!! Isn’t that a bit STUPID! I meen, no offense but both Eragon and Eldest say ‘The Inheritance TRILOGY’. What is CP gonna do. Take all of our books back and re publish them as ‘the Inheritance SERIE’ and then sell them back to us… I’ve seen people make mistakes before, but these decisions of Paolini’s clealy show that he is immature and too young to be writing a book trilogy (or series or whatever)!!!
I’m very disapointed in CP, but a part of me benefits from his change of plans – I get to read more of his BRILLIANCE!!!
November 25th, 2007 at 10:49 am
I am actually not a big fan of Christopher Paolini. I appreciate him putting teen writers out there just like any other teen writer, but his style sounds like something I would have written when I was fourteen – and, coming from me, that’s not really a compliment. Some parts of his book are definitely in need of polishing.
Naturally, Paolini would NEVER come to a little Midwestern city like mine… so no, I’ve never been to one of his signings.

CAN’T WAIT!!!
i’m dying for the 3rd and the 4th book!!!!!!!!
December 4th, 2007 at 6:17 am
Hello Ally, you’ll probably like Paolini’s video talking about some of the stuff that will be in the next 2 books:

I cant belive it! I loved the first two immediatly, and want the third and fourth book NOW!!! GIVE IT TO ME!!!
April 23rd, 2008 at 6:35 am
I can’t believe this!!! i’ve been waiting for SO LONG for the third book and now i have to suffer for the next one!? this is almost as bad as waiting for breaking dawn!! I have too little patience!!
June 10th, 2008 at 12:41 am
him changing his original plans of the trilogy to a cycle shows his MATURITY as a writer. Him knowing that he has to go against what he earlier said, and has published in all the other books (the trilogy) and make the fourth to completely justify his characters and put a perfect ending to this book, shows extreme maturity and brilliance as a writer. And why be disappointed in somebody for changing there mind to further better his writing and make sure that the ending is as perfect as the beginning. Ignorant people.
June 11th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
I love both of his books. They are amazing. They rank up with Harry Potter and Twilight for me. I’ve already pre-ordered Bringsir. I just hope I aquire some new patience in order to wait for the fourth book…
August 22nd, 2008 at 1:37 pm
I love his books!!! I Can’t wait!!!
September 5th, 2008 at 9:04 pm

September 22nd, 2008 at 7:36 am
BOOK THREE IS HERE ITS CALLED BRISINGR AND ITS AWESOME
September 23rd, 2008 at 3:21 pm
BRISINGER IS AWESOME..I MEAN ITS TOTALY AMAZING IF YOU DONT LIKE IT YOUR AN IDIOT!
September 30th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
Book 3 is AWESOME I AGREE. Oh and Kaleb, I was at a Brisingr signing about…3 or 4 days ago, I forget, but the crowd was pretty huge. I stood in line about 1 and a half hours to get my book signed. It was short, and Chris is a bit of an awkward speaker (but good with the younger kids) but he cleared up his opinions a bit, and I got my copy personalized. ^.^ Also, he seemed to think that the movie sucked in comparison with the book, and the poor guy got pretty unnerved when a girl asked him what his inspiration for Eragon and Arya’s relationship was. The EragonMoms (like the TwilightMoms) are pretty wild about the books. Yes, there are EragonMoms, I was amazed too.
His favorite line is “DIE, puny human!”
He wrote a third of Eragon on real parchment and an a pen he had to self-ink.
I can’t really remember much at the moment, but email me if you want to know more Kaleb! Thanks, cya!

just hurry the hell up with book 4. the wait was long enough for book 3 and still no closure.
October 4th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
About three years ago, I skipped school to fly from Alaska to Seattle to see Christopher Paolini at a school on Mercer Island. This was around the time of Eldest’s release.
The crowd was huge, and we waited in line for about an hour and a half to get into the auditorium, and after he spoke, another hour to get our books signed and a chance to shake the man’s hand.
It was really cool though to get to meet my favorite author…even if it meant some homework built up while I was gone!

I say go C.P his books remind me some what of J.R Tolkein and that is saying allot, I just hope there isn’t as long a wait for book 4 as I finished the 3rd in five days. And F.Y.I,I am an old lady…
October 12th, 2008 at 2:12 pm
Im excited for a 4th book! it gives everyone something to look forward to. i just finished the 3rd book BRISINGR and i lovvveee it. I must say that im disappointed to have to wait but im still excited. i also believe that these are a group of books that someone CAN read over and over again because it still creates suspense and emotion. thats why i love this so much.
Unfortunantly, i didnt like the movie. It does a horrible job of copying the book. so much is vague and after reading the book, no one can really enjoy the movie anymore b/c its not close to the book.
October 21st, 2008 at 10:19 pm
A 4th book because he thought dwarven politics was something worth including in the 3rd, and every time he visits a place he has to re-describe it as if it was the first time he was writing about the place. Paolini is a tedious writer, and if I hadn’t already invested so much time in the series I’d be done with it.
Now I suppose we have to wait another 3 years for the next book (Eargon 02, Eldest 05, Brisingr 08)
October 23rd, 2008 at 1:27 pm
I cannot belive it! I just finished the third book! In all of the others he said it was a Trilogy and I was excited when I neared the end of the third book. Instead, I was dissapointed by Christopher suddenly changing it to a “cycle”. That is fine, but I am sure as hell not going to buy the fourth book for $29 at Barnes and Nobles when I can buy it at Wal-Mart for $18 (both hardback by the way)
October 25th, 2008 at 10:41 am
I am so glad and aggravated to know that there is going to be a fourth book. I waited for the third Brisingr for a year now and I love the book it was so wonderful. It saddens me to have to wait to read the fourth book I hope CP gets it published fast I am ready to see how it all ends.
October 25th, 2008 at 10:19 pm
The third book was fantastic, the story flows so smoothly. His style of trying is fantastic for plot development in the Brisinger, it’s like the author is growing along with his books and becoming more mature and refining his style. Sadly his weakness is the dialog, Sapphira sounds more dumb than majestic when she talks. I’ll give Paolini props on attention to detail with characters and their development in this book.
Initially I was upset there’s now a fourth book, but if he didn’t do it then Brisinger would have been quick, long, and unsatisfying. I finished the third and feel good about it, unlike Eldest which made me gag the way it was presented and ended (kind of a rough read). What concerns me is, does he have enough material for a final book? He doesn’t leave much left for the imagination.
November 6th, 2008 at 3:03 am
OMG The Eragon series is amazing. I’m about half through Brisingr and i only started the series bout 4 weeks ago. I can’t wait for the fourth one to come out. I’m biting my fingernails. Its a bit dissapointing though cause i really wanted to know what happens. Is there suppose to be a new rider. If there is i think its either Roran. Or someone else.(i’m not gonna say the name incase you haven’t read Brisingr yet but it haves something to do with Roran and Katrina. So yer.
Love it
November 9th, 2008 at 5:55 pm
Sometimes people misjudge how long a story will actually be. Is it his fault? Possibly, or possibly his editor’s. either way I love the books, and while I wanted a good ending, rushing Brisingr just wouldn’t have made it satisfying. I just wonder how long we’re going to have to wait for the last book!
November 13th, 2008 at 7:56 am

December 26th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
Omg, the 3rd books is amaazzingg , i’m glad he’s writing a 4th book, the 4th book would have been too rushed, i was a bit sad to read the part where it said there’s gonna be a 4th book cause when i was reading i was like well it’s not the ending, but now i’m super excited for the 4th book to come out ; does anybody know when it’s coming out? Well whenever it is i hope soon , the 3rd book was amazing.
December 28th, 2008 at 10:07 pm

OK, this is an OLD post, but I’m going to comment anyway. ^.-
I am a HUGE fan of the Inheritance Cycle! From what I’ve heard, Christopher doesn’t do too many book signings anymore. He did one about two or three years ago through a website where you could pay.. I think it was around $50 plus shipping, and he’d mail you a personalized, signed copy of Eldest or Eragon. My dad got me one for Christmas, but the day after he ordered, the website said that they were stopping. My dad got on the phone (I have an awesome dad) and called around, and ended up talking to Christopher’s dad for fourty-five minutes. Apparently his parents are pretty involved, and his family decided to stop because it was beginning to be too much for him. I did end up getting the signed copy (we’re not sure if it was in the last batch he planned to sign or what, but we got it in the mail on Dec. 24.) But he got a TON of people ordering those signed copies. I think he would be a much bigger author if the Eragon movie hadn’t been such a flop.

April 13th, 2009 at 12:21 am
personally, im glad that he’s publishing 4 books. if he hadnt, we would all be disappointed in the 3rd because it would be too much, too soon. the information would be squished together and no one would be happy with it, including christopher paolini. he obviously had more to say and he is the author. and to the people who are saying bad stuff about the books and him: if you hated them so much, why did you take the time to look up his website and write a comment then?

May 8th, 2009 at 1:24 pm
I read his first book by accident, I picked it up at a yard sale for .50. I read it, and fell in love with it. Then I read the second. For xmas I got the movie and the 3rd book. As I was getting close to the end I realized it couldn't possibly be ending. I am bummed. Does anyone know when the release date is set?
May 16th, 2009 at 1:35 am
WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot!!! – What a sell-out! If it was marketed as a trilogy, then write a trilogy. Don't get me wrong – the story if good, even if the writing itself is juvenile.
Clearly, he wants more money. Don't tell me the last story had to be written in two books. Many authors have written lengthly books. Look at James A. Michener and Jean Auel – their books are hundreds of pages! Paolini could have completed his story in one book – he is looking for more book sales.
Does anyone have this guy's email address? alagaesia.com conveniently omits a “Contact Us” link that most websites have. The guy must be tired of the hate email for being ignorant of what TRILOGY means. Barsted.
May 26th, 2009 at 5:48 pm
YO. Waz up Homey Dees? Ithink his books r awsome! I have read the firsgt book 4 times, the second book 3 times and the third book only twice. then i heard from my cousin (markie) that the forth is coming out! Boy did I get excited! I think that C.P. is totally awsome! C.P. u totally rock!
June 2nd, 2009 at 12:00 am
I think he said it was going to be green back before he spit up the 3rd into a 3rd and a 4th, so when he split them he had to find a different color.
(Know it's old news, but I don't care.)
I try to keep up on things that happen with CP, even if I don't like his writing very much (teen author thing, I'm sure KAN knows.)
June 3rd, 2009 at 8:47 pm
U totally rock! excited to read your 4th book!
June 4th, 2009 at 5:48 am
i hant read 3rd book yet but i loved it so far is awsome!
cant wait for 4 book
June 5th, 2009 at 11:03 am
His books are amazing i loved the end of Eldest!
Teh BEST
i THINK that the 4th book will be called Eldunari And he will find Eldunari in the vault of soules i think that Arya will be a rider and that Roran will be king of alagasia and i think that Elva will betray the Varden and me a big threat she might even get a dragon and use it against the Varden and help galbatorix and when Arya gets a dragon i think that Saphira and Aryas Dragon will… “mate” and angela who knows about here… but in the 4th book Angela deffenately has a bigg role to take
June 11th, 2009 at 10:57 pm
OMG, i love his books. I cant believe hes like only 19. I came across his book by accident. I was walking in the library looking for something cool just by the cover(no one give me the lecture dont judge a book by its cover) And than i saw it. I havent been able to but it down for a year. I cant wait till the 4th. I heard it was coming around next year or this year. I dont care if it said trilogy, and i dont want a huge book with all the books in it. GO C.P
June 16th, 2009 at 10:12 am
whats the name of 4 book????????????????????????????????
i cant wait for it……………….
June 18th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
wow, have none of u noticed how much he steals from lord of the rings?? The elves in forests, dwarves in mountains called Beors, that are cammed Beornings in lord of the rings, the evil, undying overlord who has a source of power, eldunari instead of the ring. And names to. The Gray heath, Isenstar, instead of Isengard. He makes me so angry!!
June 19th, 2009 at 6:58 am
so what???? its perfect!!!!!!
and he wrote it when he was 15…oh plz!
June 19th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
ya, but seriously, he took so MUCH!! like, one or two things, i wouldnt care but he's too lazy to invent new names or themes! The Nazgul, guess what, The Forsworn! Orik seems like he's based of Gimli, they have an all powerful elf queen. Its like he took J.R.R. Tolkien's work and added more dragons, magic and bad writing.
June 20th, 2009 at 7:06 am
…its like he took j.r.r. tolkiens work and added more dragons, magic… ok but not BAD WRITING!!!!!!!!!!!
if he was writing bad he wouldnt have been so……..famous!!!!!!
June 22nd, 2009 at 1:40 pm
Ok, maybe not BAD writing, but not great writing either. He should have waited and developed more characters and different themes. I think it would have made it a much better series. I thought his books were ok, but still, it is stuff that has been written about before, so it isnt very new or exciting. I hope the forth book is better, now that he has had time to evolve plots, themes, and characters.

Ruben van Aswegen
Really? If we're going on a maturity route, you obviously missed out on something. One mistake and you decide he can't write a book after he already spent three or so years developing then publishing two very famous and well sold books. So he didn't expect his Trilogy to go beyond that. Doesn't that make his writing all the better? Now that he's developing more to his story the adventure may go on, almost beyond his grasp. I write a little; I know how it feels to have a story surge forth and beoynd your grasp and realize it will go beyond where you saw it going. Please, leave the kid alone and let him enjoy his story that he wrote, and if its not too bothersome for you if he writes a couple more books, enjoy them with the rest of the world.
And if I'm lucky enough that Christopher actually read this, email me would you? hahaha.

THANKYOU!
I'm wondering if you are Christopher Palolini himself or some other dude named Chris laughing about how people are critizing Chris's or “your” writing.

Point made
June 25th, 2009 at 5:00 am
I don't know about any of you guys, but my favorites are between Brisingr and Eldest. Eldest is when the cool training and awesome fights come out, but Brisingr is when Eragon stops being a wuss.
Anyone give a crap about ANOTHER teenage writer trying to get some eyes on his own developing story?
His name can't be put on the internet becuase its not safe anymore, but if you contacted him on tacolad94@hotmail.com, he'd be happy with that.
June 25th, 2009 at 5:09 am
Everybody's a friggen critic.
Don't you get it? One writer's writing is almost always influenced by another writer's writing. A writer is shaped but what he had read and heard from others. It's almost impossible for anyone to have a completely original piece.
Naming isn't easy either. What's wrong with building off of what another person's started. I mean, when you think about it, coming up with a name that is unique to the culture of the subject is a hard task.
But I see what you mean, Chris was obviously heavily influenced by the Lord of the Rings.
I'm trying to remember where I read something about Merlin or some sort talking about true names. It was like this wizard academy or some sort.

I know me too!
June 25th, 2009 at 4:03 pm
Yes. I do agree with this Ramanoth…
As a eighteen-year-old writer, it doesn’t take much effort to look back on my past writing. I can say that starting young can surley be rough. Both my writer friends and myself agree that it is a common tendancy for young writers to wish to duplicate media they have admired. Is it an attempt to copy or steal? No. It is simply an adoring adolecant mind. I can also attest that names are extremely hard to generate, even with computer programs.
I feel that we are all lucky! Did Paolini mimic Tolkien? Yes. However, he did it well. At least we weren’t presented with a work that was simply LotR… tweaked. The world could be reading a story about a half-ling who has to journey to a volcano to destroy a necklace that renders its wearer the ability to walk through solid objects.
Oh.. and “sweety,” fame has little to do with an authors ability to write, it has largely to do with their creativity and story telling ability. How much do the target readers like the piece? Example: Mitch Albom: revered, worshipped even. Horrible writing ability. (Of course there is always and exception, i.e. Stephen King. The sole author with the ability to ruin the hopes and dreams of every reader in the span of one page and still be renown.)
June 25th, 2009 at 7:20 pm
EVERYBODY thought the movie sucked. That's an understatement.
The movie was a new definition of suckage, to a degree that when I finished watching it after having read the book, I pormptly destroyed the DVD, burnt it, and danced around the flames.
June 25th, 2009 at 7:27 pm
I thought it would be called Eldunari` as well, but now I'm not sure. I'm mean, look at the name of the second book. Eldest; no one in the book was name Eldest although it was related to some of the topics; Oromis and Glaedr.
I'm defnitely thinking Arya will be a rider, and if not, Roran will. Elva might kill Nassuada.
Elva may not join Galbatorix of her own will, or may not join at all. Remember Angela? She mentioned her ward that protected her from Elva.
Angela can't be that big a deal can he? I know CP will delve more into her history, but anything too terribly big? She likes to BE there, not actually affect the outcome…I think.
June 26th, 2009 at 4:51 am
ok you are right for the fame but i didnt mean it the way you do…i mean it how you said the story telling ability…that was what i meant…and i agree with you and ramanoth!oh and ramanoth… eldest was my favourite book too!!!!
June 26th, 2009 at 4:41 pm
My ABSOLUTE favorite part of Eldest is when Eragon finishes fighting Vanir, or whatever that elf kids name was, and Saphira walks up and puts her talon on his chest and says “dead”. That made me laugh SO hard when the other elves backed off and the elf kid paled.
June 26th, 2009 at 4:46 pm
Now I think about it, there’s no way CP’s titling the last book Eldunari`. It might be something in the ancient language meaning “end”.
I just had a crazy idea! What if Nassuada dies, and RORAN takes over the Varden? Somebody is going to die in the 4th book, so it’s gotta be Nassuada.
I bet Eragon’s going to say his true name in the ancient language or normal language and the Vault of Souls is the Vault for the Eldunari`, or some of them.
June 26th, 2009 at 5:27 pm
way to go leann!!! alright im glad there are elderly people and young alike that are keeping the fairytales alive and kicking!!!! love it!!! theres just too much violence in this world anymore to stay sane in! thanks alot for being you and not the majority of “ADULT” people!!! (this is comming from a 24 yr old wife! that loves to read this type of stuff!)
June 26th, 2009 at 5:36 pm
I love this series its as great as Terry Brooks! but i dont care about the opinions of certain people really, everyone IS indeed entitled to an opinnion, but that doesnt mean bash hatefull words onto innocent fans for the things those certain human beings lack intrest in. but anyhoot, im glad that there are so many people out there that have the same passion for reading as i do.
and to this i say way-to-go! C.P.’s works are very imaginitive, creative, and spectacular. keep up the great work and take your time doing so.
June 26th, 2009 at 5:45 pm
oh well that is definitely well said! yes i agree with u anyone who does want to rush doesnt really care for it at all or the author. it is the people who he is writing for not just for himself. lol but i can also see that the people love cp's work too and i can understand why they want him to hurry but he has his own reasons for taking a long time or not it is not for us to hurry him along but for him to find his own pace for writing this book by himself. but i understand completely. the people are the ones who have made it possible for him to go on. we should all be grateful his mind has been transferred via book to us, and not be so selfishly griping about how long it takes for his books to come out! lol.
im not trying to be a prude but i do agree with what caroline is saying here. lets not take cp for granted his work is great, but dont let your thots on this issue overrun your mouths im sure cp is doing his best to get the final book ready and is possibly at this moment perfecting its intensity so that when it goes public the series will go out with a deffinite resounding “BOOM!” that will startle the readers into a state of AWE!
June 26th, 2009 at 5:52 pm
im sorry but i do not agree with you on your comment but thanks for you input anyway, just because someone types a certain way does in no way dictate wether they are insipid or intelligent. thank you.
June 26th, 2009 at 6:03 pm
ok, do i have to point this out several times for certain people here to hopefully wake them from their daily stupor to understand that not all minds think alike?!?!?!? come on! if you dont have anything better to do than complain then just leave. not everyone likes the same things but do not disrespect others for what they read, do, and say. this is not your site, this isnt my site either, but please! i doubt very much that the one who is the owner of this site, very possibly doesnt agree with disrespectful people on this site as well. sorry if this comment offends anyone, just speaking what i think is truth.
June 26th, 2009 at 6:22 pm
…(shakes head)… (sighs)…
June 26th, 2009 at 7:54 pm
As you see fit to do so, so you shall.
June 28th, 2009 at 11:21 am
actually thats MY favourite part too… WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
June 28th, 2009 at 11:34 am
OK ITS A GOOD IDEA, from the begining i started not to sympathize nassuada(and i dont kniw why!) so i think that she is the only one who HAVE/CAN die… i mean it cant be eragon or roran or arya even elva shouldnt die…
oh and ramanoth i dont know who you are but i really like you!!!!!
June 28th, 2009 at 1:06 pm
I don’t know, writers pull that kind of stuff on us often enough. Eragon could pull a Jesus on us for all we know.
Arya can probably die too. I already have a visual of Arya getting captured, tortured, and made a slave so Eragon would have to kill her and then she’s dieing and he’s crying and she says she loves him then…
I’m blathering a bit aren’t I?
Elva will make it through this; unless CP sees the loophole in her character as being to sense other people’s pain, not her own, that would get her killed. Otherwise, Elva’s character isn;t the one that gets removed. If she does die, she’ll tell Eragon the spell or action to take Galbatorix from the Eldunari`.
Feelings mutual.
June 28th, 2009 at 1:08 pm
Your name strikes a familiar chord in my memory. A place or Person, I can’t tell.
I would agree with you on this comment right up until the end.
CP shouldn’t rush it. But for my sanity’s sake, he shouldn’t dawdle.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:21 am
maybe arya dont have to die… i dont know…obviously the rest of us dont expect her to die…it wont be the best end…
June 29th, 2009 at 1:33 pm
I know she doesn’t HAVE to die, but some authors pull that kinda bulloni sandwhich on us readers sometimes.
June 30th, 2009 at 6:10 am
ok… i think u are right
June 30th, 2009 at 5:42 pm
Remember Gandolf from Lord of the Rings? Did HE have to die? No. Instead, tolkein tricks us into a false sense of secrutiy into thinking he won the fight and then he falls down a deep dark chasm after collasping an ancient dwarf bridge.
July 1st, 2009 at 2:54 am
oh right…but i cant see the way she would die…i mean eragon must win galbatorix alone…of course g. can kidnap her and murder her but if this happen, they wont talk to each other (arya&eragon), maybe to another fight but arya is to strong to die from an ourgal or something like this, there must be some one who knows magic and he is very very strong… but i dont know…
July 1st, 2009 at 2:43 pm
No, I mean G might kidnap her then put spells on her using her true name or break her mind and force her to say oaths in the ancient language. Eragon might catch up at Uru baen and they might fight. Eragon will win or she can still talk freely. She’ll be dieing on the floor and so on and so forth.
July 2nd, 2009 at 6:13 am
oh yeah but G dont know aryas real name so…
July 2nd, 2009 at 11:25 am
He can break her mind and find out. don’t forget Murtagh and probably the thousands of other name slaves G has; Murtagh mentioned “he’s quite adept at the practice”.
July 3rd, 2009 at 6:05 am
i disagree with u again because arya is very very strong so she can keep G out of her mind until Eragon come there and then… voila… Eragon and arya and evryone else who is with them fight with G and… he is dead!!!!!!!!!! and someone of course die… except Eragon and Arya.Murtagh is free from the magic G done to him and its a happy ending! oh i forgot Eragons (and murtaghs) mother is dead?? i cant remember…
July 3rd, 2009 at 12:35 pm
Don’t forget that Galbatorix was preparing to break her mind. she was in Gil’lead and about to o to Uru Baen. She was worried about going there because she knew she’d be interrogated by Galbatorix himself. She might be strong, but Galbatorix’s mind has been breaking minds for years, particularly those of Eldunari`, the strong minds of dragons. He was quite ready to break an elf’s mind.
Yeah, their mom is dead; her name’s Selena.
OHH!! I just figured out why Eragon’s going to have to leave! (Angela’s prediction) Remember the Meona tree? It will tell him to leave Algaesia. Or He’ll go and find people like him, or he and Arya will leave with their dragons to rebuild the Riders, or to that island the riders first built their empire.
I wonder if the other man in Eragon’s dream from the first book was Murtagh and he’d lost his dragon and wanted to sail away with Eragon and Arya?
July 5th, 2009 at 9:07 pm
I think there will be a new rider. Think it’s Elva. Who knows? Can’t wait for the fourth book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ; )
July 5th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
Definitely there’ll be a new rider. However, your suggestion is…odd. I can’t how in any logical sense Elva might be a rider. Her rider’s symbol on her forhead is an well-founded clue, but I don’t think she’ll be the rider. Think back about the dream from Eragon; he mentions a tall man and woman standing on a boat, saling away, and a man giving a long agonized cry as two dragons fly off in the sky.
No one can wait for the fourth book. Seriously tho, an ealier comment noted that we’d have to wait another 3 years; eragon 2002, eldest 2005, Brisingr 2008. What I’m curious about is the name. Seriously; Eldunari` would make sense, but not in the long run. It may be the source of G’s power, but I doubt CP would use such a name. think of the abstract title for Brisingr; it’s the name of Eragon’s sword and was only brought into the story near the end.
July 8th, 2009 at 6:26 am
ok! ok! ok! ok! i got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 8th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
Uh…sorry. Didn’t mean to sound snotty or know it all-ish…I was just saying what I figured and why, don’t take it personal. I thought you were curious as to why I thought all that. I’m not saying Arya will die, just that she might. She will probably become a Rider out of everyone in the Varden.
July 9th, 2009 at 2:37 am
i didnt mean to make you feel sory or something… i am curious and i like your ideas but there were so……. many ideas that i freaked out!!!! and i dont think you sounded snotty or ‘know it all-ish’!
(sorry for my bad english, i am from…greece…)
July 9th, 2009 at 9:09 pm
I am glad. I noticed you responded at around exactly the opposite time of day. I thought your English was simply rushed, but it doesn’t bother me.
I’m from the western coast of the US, where poor grammar and spelling thrives. You are easy to read compared to most of my former classmates.
Another thing besides who might die; where do you think the Vault of Souls is? I think its in Kuasta because that’s where Brom’s from and its mentioned a couple times. And I remember something about the Kuthian Kingdom or something.
July 10th, 2009 at 6:55 am
first.you have to be glad because if you are not i’ll get mad with myself because i made you feell sorry:-)
second. its very good that you understand my english and its a good practise for me!
for the Vault of the souls, it might be in Kuasta or in sharktooth.if you see better in sharktooth its a very small spot or whatever it is.maybe its a volcano but i think that its the vault of souls…what do you think?
July 10th, 2009 at 9:35 am
First off: I am glad because I do not wish to give offense to anyone; especially on text seeing as it doesn’t just go away when you want it to.
I’m not sure where Sharktooth is, unless you mean a literal Sharktooth when you say it’s in a small spot.
I think we can rule out a volcano, as someone has to be able to access it; that being Eragon.
I’m not honestly sure what might be found in the Vault though.
A lot of people say Eldunari`, but it could be dragon eggs or the vault where Galbatorix keeps his last green egg. Eragon’s true name, the name Galbatorix might be looking for, could be what opens the Vault where Eldunari or the last egg are found.
July 10th, 2009 at 12:22 pm
ok i think that the most likely is eldunari because …idk G. wont be able to open the vault and hide the egg…if it opens with eragons name…
sharktooth is an island near Kuasta… i cant remember were i read something about this(i am veryyyy guidance, arent i?)
July 11th, 2009 at 1:05 pm
I looked up Sharktooth and yeah, it’s right next to Kuasta in the book maps.
Maybe that’s the name he’s looking for? The name the Ra’Zaac mentioned G. was looking for before he died. Unless the name is the name of the ancient language or something.
What do you mean by guidance?
July 12th, 2009 at 6:10 am
RAMANOTH i couldn’t reply you because there wasn’t much space to write!
with ‘guidance’ i mean that i located you exactly to ‘where’ and ‘what’ i read about the vault of souls.
it was a very helpfull article about where the vault is… sorry but i cant remember the website…
sorrysorrysorrysorry……….
July 12th, 2009 at 10:17 am
It’s ok, I’m not aobut to lose my sanity over an article you can’t remember. So, Sharktooth the island? Hmm. I think another set of characters might enter the tale at this point, such as the Grey Folk, or one of the first riders (no one said they died).
July 12th, 2009 at 6:19 pm
I have read many negative comments about Christopher Paolini’s books, some of which I agree with, some not. I do think his books make enjoyable reads. I also think he’s not Robert Jordan. Like all writers he’ll hopefully get better with age and experience. He does need to toss the Thesaurus.
July 13th, 2009 at 6:38 am
right, eragon (junior) can meet the ‘ancient’ eragon…
OH!!!!! eragon can go out of alagaesia and meet the other riders, bring them with him and win G. all together!!!
Then roran becomes the new king of alagaesia or vardens and many of the ppl in alagaesia become riders!
eragon and arya can be toghether and……….ta ta!!!!!!!! THE HAPPY EVER AFTER!!!
Any ideas??????????how it will end???
July 13th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
It was to my opinion that Eragon would leave Algaesia forever at one point. Remember Angela’s prediction and Eragon’s dream? Roran is very likely to become King, but perhaps not of the Varden. Nassuada chose Eragon to lead the Varden if she should die, which I’m confident she will. I’m unsure of what will become of the Dragon’s and Rider’s of Algaesia. Eragon and Arya might leave, maybe with the elves, to go rebuild the riders elsewhere to return later on. I don’t know. What I’m curious about is who the egg will hatch for; the last one. I wonder if Arya or someone else might get it. Arya seems to be the most popular choice, but maybe not the most likely. What about Elva? She has the “shining brow” upon her forehead from Saphira. She might be the next rider. Roran probably won’t.
July 14th, 2009 at 6:49 am
i know it in your opinion that eragon would leave.i don’t think forever but the most likely is to go because in the they told a few times that no one went out of alagaesia… you are right for roran that he wont be vardens leader. about the last egg… elva can be a rider but how arya and eragon would be toghether?
its like hero stuff, you know, the hero never dies and his/her mate become hero to, and they have the same superpowers and bla bla bla…
July 14th, 2009 at 12:13 pm
You’re putting a lot of faith in the fact that Arya will actually end up loving Eragon. I’m not confident in that respect. It is not neccesary for Eragon to win Arya’s affection to the plot of the story. A hero does not always get whom or what they want. More often they get what they need. Another thing is the fact that Eragon will have to teach the next Dragon and Rider. It would be convenient if Arya was made a dragon rider. But who would Eragon teach then? Just her dragon? And would not Saphira handle a majority of that training?
I know I sound a bit cynical and pessimistic, but the thing is I dpn’t always look for the happy ever after in a story because that’s not always what happens. It may not be the ending I was looking for, but sometimes I prefer the ending the writer comes up with.
July 15th, 2009 at 7:10 am
ok i guess i cant do anything to change your mind about the happy ending…
and you are right for eragon and the new rider and arya…
and ok i want it to end happily but not like a fairytale… there must be something sad… like someone to die and stuff… i mean i dont want it to end like: the prince comes, rescues the princess and we got the happy ever after but i dont want it either to end like romeo and juliet…
or someone to loose his/her lover.thats why i dont want arya to die. i know that there are many ppl that dont agree with my ideas but this is what i’ve imagined from the beggining…
July 20th, 2009 at 2:05 pm
That’s ok. Still, the person who will probably die is Nassuada. Compared to everyone else in the story, she’s the most likely one to die. Next to her, Elva and Trianna, then Katrina/Roran, Arya, Nar Garhzvog, Orik, and so on. I wonder if maybe Eragon might die?
Oh! I just got an idea! What if what Angela means by “You’ll leave Algaesia forever” is that a part of him leaves Algaesia forever, like his full human side when he becomes a rider/elf thing.
July 22nd, 2009 at 6:51 am
ERAGON WONT DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!FORGET IT!
what do you mean, ‘a part of him leaves, like his full human side…’?????
you are right for nassuada, you were from the begining.
July 22nd, 2009 at 9:41 am
Ok, what I mean is in a sense, Eragon. In a certain point of view, he will die. He’s a rider now, right? That would overtime wash away the nature of his human side over time. That process has been altered and sped up, with the whole half elf thing. His link to Saphira also makes him dragon-like in some ways. and the funny part is he technically a dwarf by right.
What I’m saying is Eragon might actually not have to leave Algaesia, just Eragon the Farmer, if you know what I mean.
July 23rd, 2009 at 7:12 am
if you put it that it makes sence,i think. Also i think that its a little little bit complicated…!!But its good, i mean why not?!!!!!!!!!!! you are very creative and thats good! So many ideas!C.P. has to think very seriously your ideas!!!GOOD!
July 23rd, 2009 at 4:10 pm
Hahahaha, thats about as likely to happen as I am to finsish my books this summer.
But thankyou.
C,P. as far as I know doesn’t look at these comments. And besides, He will already have figured out how to end the fourth book already, so comments won’t have an impact.
July 24th, 2009 at 11:48 am
You know its very bad that most authors dont read fan blogs and stuff. They write their books the way they want
(thats not the bad thing)and some of the books are fantastic but they would be more interesting if they write some of their fans ideas. some ppl have very very good ideas that the authors will never even imagine about… of course they cant read all the blogs but they can find some interesting…
July 24th, 2009 at 12:05 pm
That would defeat the purpose of a single author on a single book, and some people might consider using fan ideas as plagerism. You realize that most of the time the author has already decided how to end thier book or series right? They usually have a plan for thier books, although as they go along they may add or change things.
July 24th, 2009 at 3:54 pm
Ive read all three books 6 or 7 times each and i can say is he is the best writer ever.Ive been looking for number 4 for 4 months.
July 24th, 2009 at 7:50 pm
uh, dude. 4 isn’t out yet. Unless you mean you’ve been waiting for book 4 for 4 months, I don’t know what to tell you.
July 26th, 2009 at 9:51 am
I know that most of the time they know how they will end the book but they can add some things from their fans.Of course, C.P. has fantastic ideas from his own.I just say that it will be very good if he take some ideas from others…
July 26th, 2009 at 8:24 pm
Aye, it would be kind of cool if they did once in a while. Still, it might disrupt the story-line or mess up their line of thinking while they write though.
July 28th, 2009 at 2:16 am
I just got done reading ELDEST. Wow! I placed Brisingr on hold at the library two days ago and started reading it today. I ordered all three of the books together (I couldn NOT wait for my copy of Brisingr, I ordered to come.) I am 43 years old and absolutely devoured the first two books. To think that I picked up a tatered copy of Eragon that was being discarded from our school library. I had to have all three of the books to put in the library i am building for my grandchildren, (None as of yet but hopefully in a few years). I got my nineteen year old to start reading Eragon and I think my thirteen year old will start reading it soon. I hope so, I want my girls and their children to know why I love C P’s stories. C P thank you for realizing that Eragon and Saphira, must be kept alive as long as possible.
July 31st, 2009 at 8:45 am
the last book is going to be called eldunari and roran will have adrgon hatch for him casue eragon will steal the last egg. he will open the vault of souls with his true name and eventually kill galbatorix with roran and murtagh
July 31st, 2009 at 8:45 am

lol i love his books i really do i read all 3 about 20 times and am reading the 4th when it comes out in september 25th 2009
September 12th, 2009 at 4:20 pm
OK, i’m 48 and have read the first three books that Mr. Paolini has put out. Yes I hated the movie. But felt that the books werre very well written for a young man who seems intellegent beyond his years. Sometimes authors don’t get much of a say when someone makes one of thier books into a movie. Look at Jean Auel’s Clan of the Cave Bear. Awesome book, movie sucked. I like 99% of your other readers anxiously anticipate your final sentence…
October 18th, 2009 at 10:04 am
I think its possible that rorans son is a rider but there are definitely two dragons that will mate otherwise there would be no more riders afterward and i dont think it will be called eldunari because they already went into that subject
October 27th, 2009 at 4:32 am
lmao i threw my shoe at the tv and started shouting and swearing at it…i was so loud the neighbours came over 'cos they thought i was being murdered
December 15th, 2009 at 4:47 pm
i no right. i love his book like i love u!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
December 15th, 2009 at 4:49 pm
i no right!! i love his books like i love u!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!klidjh
December 28th, 2009 at 4:35 am
you know darn right it will! Eldest was my favorite because of the depth of magic use and learning that occurs. It's only in the 3rd book he starts to kick butt though.
December 28th, 2009 at 4:45 am
That's certainly a possibility. I definitely think that's possible. I never considered Roran's unborn child. However. remember what Eragon's teacher said. the time of the dragons has passed apparently. They are probably never going to rise up again. And that's exactly what I said about Eldunari; Cp used Brisingr and it hardly strikes anyone as important. Eldunari would be too easy for a title.
February 25th, 2010 at 4:10 pm

ok what about such movies as “Thumb Wars”, “Spaceballs” those were ripoffs of STAR WARS!!!! and lots of peeps loved those movies!!!!! and not only that but he changed a lot of things in his books at least if not more than 20% i beleive that makes it OK because as long as you change something 20% or more it can be claimed as “your own work”. thats copyright law. ( my husband is a cover band artist he's researched this). so yes he might have gotten his idea from LOTR but that doesnt mean he stole it. because he diddnt he made it his own peice by changing it to what he wanted the story to be.

again as everyone has stated it is very hard to generate new ideas in a world of writing as old as it is…everything in history has been written about already angels deamons gods devils mythical animals ghosts the imagination of humans can and is immence but it only goes so far. the question that should be pondered about her is “WHAT HAS NOT BEEN THOUGHT OF?” trust me i too have tried to come up with original ideas. and come up with nada. >.< i have characters of my own yes, but the species have already been used way tooo often for them to be of significance to anyone.

all i can say is “I LOVE WHAT YOU JUST SAID”
Jean M Auels books are very good. yes the movie was shabby, and so was eragons movie, the books are always better than the movies. oh also if your looking for Mrs. Auels last book it hasnt been published yet I heard from a wickipedia source that it could be comming out March 29th of 2011. but wicki is a source thats updated by people opinion so it's not very likely that that date is true, but just a tidbit of info for you in case it is. ^^
