Sanctus Real – We Need Each Other

I must be honest: for many years, the belief has been that music in the Christian genre is there because it wouldn’t survive in the mainstream. The same pattern went that people in radio are there because they couldn’t survive on television. But suddenly, things are beginning to change, as the Christian Rock field is becoming shockingly professional, rivaling even with my favorite mainstreams.
Anberlin, Switchfoot, Flyleaf, Britt Nicole and Hawk Nelson are some that come to mind- talented, professional, and hard to differentiate from their mainstream counterparts. Joining with the trend of sounding good, Sanctus Real is now a leading example of a group that has put out a song that might as well be a hit. Taking their own style and throwing in the new Snow Patrol ‘Signal Fire’ sound that makes people think of movie soundtracks and a bit of something that reminds me of the Lion King movie, they’ve put out a song I can not only listen to, but like to listen to- and have sent over to my Sansa mp3 player, the highest of honors I can give to any song.
The album will be out February 12, 2008, but you can hear it on my show early, or by clicking the button above for a clip. The artist is Sanctus Real, the song is We Need Each Other and the album will be titled Turn On The Lights.
For the comment box: Like the track? And do you think he almost sounds like Anberlin at the chorus?
