Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus – Ready, Set, Don`t Go

When writing the title of this post, I came to a dilemma. Anyone reading this over 20 would expect Cyrus to be after Billy Ray- anyone under 20 would expect it after Miley’s name. Both of them huge stars to entirely different generations (the older of the two, albeit more infamous than famous). I don’t think you can walk into any department store these days without Miley or her television alter-ego Hannah Montana up there (simply typing those words will double my hits for this week). Tickets to her show? Going for $4000 (three zero’s, and that’s no typo). She is the biggest brand name at the moment, and turning 15 next month.
Since she usually only does Disney pop I haven’t had any push to post any review regardless of how catchy, because it just isn’t good form. Until now- a duet with her dad on a song that he wrote for her (alright, no jokes about good form of posting a Billy-Ray song
. Either these two are really playing emotion to make gobs of cash, or it is all real and Miley could be the only innocent star alive. I know I’m being quite distrusting and it ruins the fun, but Britney did get a good review from Focus On The Family with her first album, so you really never know.
Disney sent me Miley’s albums, too, a while back- filled with synthetic pop that will not leave your head no matter how much you try and reminds me of the water park (the one with Mickey Mouse walking around). They’re good at writing songs that don’t say anything- a perfect way to not offend anyone! It doesn’t get much cleaner than Miley. This country song is such a welcome sound that I think she’d probably be an even bigger hit at country radio. She’s got the voice, she’s got the energy, and if she stays the way she is she’ll be the star for a long, long time.
So since I’m posting the clip, I feel free to say that she’s got one great voice that we better see going into more music styles soon, or I’ll have Mickey Mouse’s tail. This song was previously released without her and was nothing in comparison until they got her in. I guess they wanted to make a hit…and don’t think country radio people don’t have kids who’ll make them play it no matter what.
The song is called Ready, Set, Don’t Go and it’s with Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus, from his album called Home At Last. Tell me what you think in the comment box!
